Neal's Yard Remedies: Grand Central Birmingham

Neal's Yard Remedies

On Tuesday I was invited to visit the brand new Neal's Yard Remedies store in Birmingham's Grand Central Station. The store itself has been open a month and the event was to introduce Birmingham based writers and bloggers to the staff and products. As a long time user of Neal's Yard products I was intrigued to actually visit a store so this was first time, first impression for me.

On walking in the chilled out vibe of the store and the mix of sumptuous smells hit me immediately. I was then offered the most yummy Matcha Green Tea, shown around the store and told about the history of the brand and their philosophy. I loved finding out all the various things the brand offers but also how they look after their staff and customers alike. The caring nature of the brand is impressive and shows how in touch they actually are with the ever changing marketplace.

The Matcha tea was a real winner for me - I had about 5-6 cups by the time I'd left! It's a Neal's Yard recipe which I'm going to recreate soon with some of their lovely super-healthy ingredients off the Herb wall.

For any long term reader of BbyB you will know that the obsession with
bees is real so I was immediately drawn to the 'Bee Lovely' range. I love honey based products anyway so this was an obvious draw for me and after reading up on the range I have gone ahead and decided what I'm picking up when next visiting. Also by buying these products we customers are also helping save bees as Neal's Yard are donating £10,000 a year to bee lovely projects to Help Save the Bees - that's a cause I'm more than happy to help with!

During the visit I also tried out the 'Wild Rose Beauty Balm' on my hand and ended up constantly sniffing it - believe me the smells in this place are addictive! The packaging on all the products is sooo pretty that I think they will make gorgeous gifts for celebrations but for me, this little beauty in particular would be the perfect intro product to get for anyone new to the Neal's Yard Remedies products.

I was lucky enough to be offered a hand massage by the lovely Tanya which after a long day of work and travel was much appreciated! We started with soaking my hands in warm water and some Lavender Bath Salts for a couple of minutes before drying them off for the massage. I got to choose my scent of product used for the massage so I chose 'Aromatic' - by this point I was just huffing in all the smell I could! Tanya was brilliant and chatted me through her time at Neal's Yard, her favourite scents and general gossip. By the end I was very relaxed smelled like I'd been in a field of flowers, heavenly!

During the hand massage Tanya mentioned she had size two feet - yes you read it right and of course I had to see. Then of course there was the obligatory compare feet sizes session which was hilarious - thanks to Tanya for being awesome all round and a good sport!

One of the great things I saw in store was the men's products on offer as these do get overlooked in a lot of skin care/ high end stores. I had no idea they did these kind of things so was surprised. The NYR men's line in extensive in itself but actually I would say almost all of the products at Neal's Yard can be used by men and women as the packaging and smells are quite unisex. The Organic Grooming Set would be my top pick for Christmas at the great price of £30!

Dropping major hints here but to any family reading this I would quite like the Beauty Book and the Cook, Brew and Blend Your Own Herbs books for Christmas ;) They do lots of books but I'll start with these :D

After we had left the event itself me and Hannah (@loveiconblog)went and did a little shopping followed by Yo! Sushi. This was the perfect end to a very relaxed evening of girly chat and pampering.

A huge thank you to the lovely ladies at Neal's Yard Remedies for inviting me and I can't wait to see you all soon!
