For me manners are everything. I was raised to be respectful not just to my elders but to everyone around me and I actually think this must be dying out.
This may make me sound like a grumpy old lady but over the past 6-12 months I have noticed less and less that people are becoming less polite. Things from opening a door for the person behind you or even just saying thank you to the person doing that for you seems to have just disappeared. I suppose you could it down to us as human beings becoming intrinsically more selfish, inward thinking and generally in a sort of sudo-survival instinct in this modern world but I am sad that being polite is something that falls to the way side.
I will remain being polite, minding my manners and hopefully this is just a social phase that passes but I just couldn't stop thinking about this today :/
What do you think? Are having manners and being polite just gone now?
