As is well documented on my blog, I have this blonde ambition and I am on a mission to achieve it. I have been having highlights and slowly but surely adding more blonde to my lions mane over the past 2 years but I'm still not where I want to be with it. Now on this mission I am aware that I need to maintain my blonde and not let it go brassy as I did in the past (major lesson learnt there!) and of course the number 1 thing to maintain blonde is to use a really good purple shampoo.
I've tried a couple of purple shampoos over my blonde time which have done the job but for me I needed that next level shampoo that could really help me maintain my blondeness. I did some review research on blogs and YouTube, as you do, and came across lots of mentions of the Joico Colour Endure Violet Shampoo so snapped up a salon size bottle. I have to grab a salon size due to the amount of hair I have so the research is really important to my purse as well as my hair! I've been using it now for three months so feel I've given it a good run for a little review.
The first thing I noticed about the shampoo itself is that it's very purple - this sounds an obvious thing to note but as I said I've tried alot of these types of shampoo and this baby is the purplest. I also realised that using this shampoo takes a little bit more dedication as you really have to massage it in due to the fact it is sulphate free - this isn't a bad thing as that sulphate stuff is rather bad for my hair! I leave it in my hair for 5-10 minutes whilst I have a sing song in the shower and then rinse. I don't normally do it twice as my hair isn't bright blonde yet but once I get to that blonde I adore I'm sure I'll give it a go.
I've really noticed my hair go brassy fast when I haven't used this so now I make sure to use it twice a week if not more. My hair is not only not horribly brassy but is left very soft, bright and smooth - I think I've found my forever purple shampoo!! I mentioned my love for this on Instagram and Joico reposted it and as I'm a hair freak it made my day!!!
Are you on a blonde mission? How are you taking care of your coloured hair?
