As promised on my recent update post here's what happened on my day at #FABBbirmingham. I was so excited to be able attend as it was my first proper blogger event but I won't lie here, I was also VERY nervous. (Pre warning here this blog is picture heavy and in no real order!)
The event location of Alfie Bird's in Digbeth, Birmingham was very familiar which was nice as I knew where I was going and throw in the fact it began at 1:30pm gave me a nice lie in. I got there a tad too early so sat and ordered myself a burger and chips. Thankfully a friendly face who I had met through twitter Katie from katielouisaox came just in time to help me eat it as it was huge and the doors had opened to #FABBbirmingham behind me. We jumped in the queue and headed upstairs....
On the first floor we were given some huge goodie bags from our lovely hosts and told to wander to our hearts content.
The first people we saw when we got up the next set of stairs (other than the tonnes of gorgeous bloggers) were the lovely ladies from Style Edit. They had some very lovely cupcakes for us all but also a book filled with gorgeous Instagram images of their ranges on fellow bloggers and the most stunning bags for us to pose with. I hadn't heard of the brand before so enjoying discussing it's beginnings and future plans.
Yummy yummy cupcakes...
Whilst milling around looking at the accessories we bumped into the vintage queen Annie of annieanniepancake and we ended up wandering around the whole event together - the three blogging musketeers lols!
The Style Skin stand on the second floor of the event was the only other fashion brand at the event and was sheer luxury. The fur items on display particularly soft and I loved seeing how all the fashion bloggers were styling them. They had everything from faux fur bags, coats and waistcoats for all us bloggers to try on and I fell in love with a grey and black waistcoat in particular - winter is coming you know!!
As I didn't know which brands were going to be at the event I was thrilled to see the Bodhi & Birch table and the one and only Elijah Choo (the brands founder.) I had seen the brand all across social media and they were on my hit list for Christmas gifts so this for me was heaven! I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with Elijah and learning about the scent notes and in particular the face oils Bodhi & Birch make and most of all that they are proudly a brand that make their products in England. I can't wait to try my Ylang Ylang samples and review soon!
The Bee Good brand is one close to my heart. Their philosophy of using all natural ingredients within their products and doing it together as a couple is truly inspiring and I just adore it. I'm going to be writing about the products I have soon so won't harp on about the products here.....
I did love that they gave out homemade honey biscuits in flower and bee shapes which was a cute little touch!
Being a beauty blogger of course the MeMeMe Cosmetics stand chocked full of makeup caught my eye immediately. The packaging rivals that of the top highstreet brands and the range is vast - what was crammed on the table was only a small slice of the entire range. We discussed with MeMeMe the brands passion for making luxury UK products with an affordable price tag and how it has developed very quickly in popularity. What I really liked was that they had a very pale foundation colour for Annie which they happily gave her as I know how difficult it can be finding a colour match for pale skin on the high street.... what nice people!!
Mist Air & Stage Line Makeup - I saw this range being applied to a model and had to have a nosey. I have never tried airbrush makeup before so had lots of questions and played with alot of the products. I was very lucky to be given a white body paint base as I had mentioned my love of Halloween and what I was dressing up as which I can tell you know came in very handy.... reviews to come once I really get to grips with airbrushing!!!
The Stage Line makeup looked very pigmented and slick so I can't wait to try out the samples they gave us!
Stylfile - I had seen throughout the event what I thought was Tom from The Apprentice but wrote it off as a silly thought. Turns out as we made our way through the crowds it was Tom on his Stylefile stand showing off the new ranges. I really enjoyed chatting with him about his business development and in particular his range for cutting babies/childrens nails which I think is ingenius! As anyone who knows me will tell you I adore my nails so of course I already own Stylfile's but now I've seen the full range I suspect I will be snapping more up soon!
After our arms were weighed down with all the lovely goodies me, Katie and Annie headed downstairs to chill out and have a mooch through our bags. It was lovely to get to know each other and see how all our blogging styles differ. I did miss some of the brand tables as I spent so long nattering with people which is a lesson I've learnt for future events - time management.
The STUNNING Sarah from Seriously Shallow came over to say hello after the event and I tell you now she is not only so damn fashionable but also amazingly lovely. I also got to squeeze another firm blogger favourite in Emma of Emma Victoria Stokes who is always so friendly and her advice is always on point!!
I really loved meeting everyone during the event and I can't wait to try out all the goodies we were given! An amazing day all round!!
