Review: Soap & Glory - One Heck of a Blot

Meet my number one holy grail face powder...

Soap and Glory 'One Heck of a Blot' (9g) which I purchased from Boots for £12
Of course what initially attracted me to it was Soap and Glory's funky, retro packaging plus the fact that it was in the 3 for 2 range made it an easy buy really.

The compact itself is perfect for me as it's sturdy and very durable (Let's just say my bags get thrown around sometimes.) I adore the large mirror in the lid which is so handy especially for when I'm travelling or in a rush.

The powder itself is finely milled and translucent but does seem to have a pinky/yellow undertone instead of the very stark white that many translucent powders have. It's very silky on the skin and can be easily applied by the puff provided or by a traditional makeup brush. In the pan it does look very pale but blends in beautifully so I think it would suit many skin tones.

The finish is very matte and can be built up without it feeling like cement on the skins surface. I find that it doesn't settle into my pores and clog them up which I love as my skin really does need to breathe to prevent breakouts.

I was looking for a quick and easy powder that would help me control the oil slick that appears on my face throughout the day..... seriously, you could fry a mars bar in it....YUCK!
This powder certainly saves my melting face every time I use it!!

If you are familiar with the product you'll know the branding is quite predominant in the power pad itself which from my pictures just shows how much I use it!

As you can tell I really love this powder and will continue to buy it when mine runs out. I'm on number two now but as they seem to last forever I'm sure number three is just in the distant future.

Do you guys use this? What do you think? x
