Since finishing my beloved L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Day Moisturiser I felt like my skin would like a change so went on the hunt in my local Boots. This of course is always dangerous as it's basically like running the gauntlet between your heart and your head through the make up isles.
After spending about 20 minutes wandering around, reading boxes and sampling many different brands (while a very annoyed bf looked on) I ended up in a section I don't usually spend much time in... the No7 brand area.
I went through all of the different skin care and purchased the Beautiful Skin Day Cream for normal/oily skin types (£12.50)
The three main things that drew me to this day cream were:
1) The fact is formulated for my normal/oily skin type and is made to mattify the skin.
2) The SPF rating - this is always important to me in my skin care routine!
3) That it claims to not block pores and prevents breakouts.
( + I love pastel green - that shouldn't make a difference but you know it does!)
The pot it comes in is what you would expect from a high street / high end skincare product - alot of glass and not alot of product. I'm always dubious of this as to a customer like me it's just such a waste of packaging and I feel twist top jars can be slightly more unhygienic than a pump top equivalent.
Anyway, mini rant over, overall saying all that it does look pretty and I'm happy it has the stripe of pale green around it.
The consistency of the cream is very thick and feels very cooling on the skin initially. It does blend in well after some of the normal circular motions around the face and you really don't need alot as it does go along way. I do think on any other skin type this would feel very heavy so I wouldn't pick this up by mistake
I have been using this product now for just over a week so it is early doors on this. I do feel like my skin is more hydrated and I have felt my makeup stays mattified for longer throughout the day but I wouldn't say it's stopped the shine on my oily areas all together.
Initially I really like this product but will reserve over all judgement until I have used it for a while longer. I have to say I am impressed by No7 and will now go and try more of their product range.
Do you have a go-to moisturiser or skin saviour? Let me know as I'm always on the hunt!
