Day Tripping: Compton Verney to see Moore & Rodin

You may not know this about me but I adore art. I have studied art through my education and actively seek out galleries when I am abroad or if an exhibit comes around that I would love to see.

Warning: This post is image heavy! Soo many amazing pieces I had to show you!!

Yesterday me and the fella jumped in the car and travelled the 45 minutes or so down to Compton Verney. I had seen that they were holding a Moore and Rodin exhibit in the grounds and main house which I really wanted to see.

The grounds themselves were littered with sculptures and it was lovely to just wander around and be able to appreciate them in such amazing surroundings + we lucked out with the weather!

The link between the works was narrated through placques that allowed you to appreciate each piece individually but also through admiration that Moore had for Rodin's work.

Once we had wandered for a couple of hours we popped inside for lunch and of course cake!!

Then to finish off we looked around the houses internal exhibits which included British Portraits and the rest of the Moore Rodin exhibit.

Overall just a great day out in the sun appreciating art and nature combined - LOVED IT!!

If you can get to Compton Verney I would highly recommend the Moore Rodin exhibit but also just to visit the scores of other art the beautiful house holds and the open garden.

I love random days out like this and now the weather is getting nicer I'm going to try and get out and about more often. Opening my mind with art, literature and music is a great way of developing and growing myself as a rounded human being :)

Do have have any recommendations of anywhere amazing to visit in the UK? Would love some tips for where to go next!

* This is NOT a sponsored post - all opinions are my own and I happily pay to see such great works of art *
