When I'm off on my travels I always end up buying one of those smaller size magazines to slip into my hand luggage. Recently I picked up a copy of the April 2014 Elle that has the stunning Katie Holmes on the cover (all hail because she is pure class) which had a rather large sample bottle of Percy and Reed's Wonder Balm for hair. I'll admit that I hadn't heard of the brand before this point and unbeknownst to me I was in desperate need of something to tame my every growing mane whilst abroad - what great timing!
I LOVE the packaging as it's very vintage looking with a very pretty illustrated lady on the front and what looks in to be hand drawn typography. It looks gorgeous on my make up table and is definitely very fun and girly.
The texture of the Wonder Balm is very shiny, runny and to me is a lot less balmy than I expected it to be. But on saying that it glides onto towel dried hair very smoothly and feels very light weight almost sinking into the hair all together. On my hair which is very thick and coarse I need about a pound coin size amount to get real coverage and to see a visible difference when my hair is dry. I've found that I have dramatically less fly-aways and my curls seem more defined and smooth but most importantly not weighed down.
What I particularly like is the scent as it reminds me of some of favourite conditioners. It's not floral or medicinal just somewhere nicely in between.
Here's the how to on how to use it from the bottle itself:
This for a sample size at 75ml is huge considering you only really have to use a small amount to get maximum results. I honestly think Percy and Reed may be doing themselves a disservice as I won't really have to buy any more of this awesome product for quite some time but I certainly will when I run out.
Plus monkey likes it ;)
