Mascara Mayhem: The Update

So it's been over a month now of me testing my 3 new mascaras and I have had some that won me over and some that fell very flat. Check out my previous Mascara Mayhem post to find out why it was time for a change :)

From my previous post you may tell that I was very excited about this product from the packaging alone but I have to tell you its a bit of a let down. It doesn't really do much that it promised to the lashes and has a strange smell. I will continue to try it in combination with other mascaras but for the moment it's not anywhere near being in regular circulation.

Ok so I am obsessed with this mascara. On it's own it does the job beautifully but built up with another mascara it's like a volume machine. I always put this one on first and it feels like it really lays a deep dark base and adds some lovely length. I will admit it doesn't give any major curl hence why I use another on top but I still think it's brilliant. This is a keeper :)

Now I'm sure you've read hundreds of reviews on this mascara as it seems to be many bloggers favourite and I can see why. I find it brilliant for my lower lashes and in combination with another base mascara amazing on my top lashes. I may be stepping out of the blogger fold here in saying I don't like it when used alone as it just doesn't seem to create the full effect I like but I love it in combo with others. Take from that what you will....

And now onto a mascara that I thought in my previous Mascara Mayhem post was a 'middle of the road' product......

Max Factor False Lash Effect Waterproof Mascara (£10.99)

I picked this up when I was in a rush about two weeks ago and used it quickly after a coat of the Rimmel Scandaleyes and found my lashes were not only long but lovely and curled and separated! I think I've stumbled across a winning combo. It just shows that giving a product a second try can really pay off :)
