I currently use three main products as the basis of my whole skincare routine:
Step one: L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Day Moisturiser (£14.99)
Putting my hands up here I picked this product based on two things, number one its by L'Oreal and number two it's pink. I've never been the girliest of girls but of late pink things have really been grabbing my attention so into my Boots basket it went.
On getting it home I excitedly unscrewed the top and tried it on the back of my hand and fell in love.
The best way to describe the consistency is in between a traditional moisturiser and serum which, for my skin type, fits a dream. When I apply it in the morning after cleansing I find it glides on smoothly and sinks into the skin evenly. The scent is also light so doesn't overpower you me in those early morning hours and set my day off feeling a bit sickly as some other day moisturisers have done. I follow this with step 2 which the official blurb makes some grand promises about:
Pixel-perfect your skin. New Skin Perfection, a L'Oreal Paris 1st: Skincare to help transform the appearance of skin quality, as if perfected. Pores look virtually undetectable, tone looks more even, skin texture feels silky-soft. - Taken from Boots.com
Step two: L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection Advanced Correcting Serum (£16.99)
According to the box the serum is a 'powerful enriched formula with Peraline-P and patented LR 2412' which is meant to make your pores look virtually undetectable and even out the skin tone. In all honesty after only two months of using it I have seen that my skin feels smoother but I would say my pores look any smaller yet. I'll reserve judgement here until I have been using it for a longer amount of time.
It applies very smoothly to the skin and is of a more liquid like texture being a serum.
The serum combined with the day moisturiser in the morning have left my skin feeling smooth, cool and ready for the onslaught of primer and makeup + they look very cute together on the old skincare shelf! I have used them in different orders before and don't see what difference it made to the overall look and feel of my skin so go crazy and apply in any order really, this is just how I generally do things.
Step three: Apply your favourite primer and make up look and go get the day!!!!
Let's pretend we are at the end of a long day and you've removed all your makeup and cleansed the skin....check out my Bioderma review if you are looking for a brilliant makeup remover here
Step four: L'Oreal Revitalift Night Cream (£12.79)
Now, I did put this in the basket for my mum but after getting home and finding the skin around my nose extremely dry I decided to give it a go myself. Ever since I have been using it as the last thing I do in my night skincare routine to make sure I wake up with super nourished skin.
This is a very thick night cream that's meant to be anti-wrinkle and firming which I see at my age (24) as preventative rather than a solution to a current problem. I find that I only need a pea size amount to cover my whole face and the same amount for my neck and chest area to really make sure everywhere is targeted.
It feels super luxurious and I really have seen a difference in my skin quality :)
Overall I really am enjoying my current skincare routine. I do throw in masks and exfoliation here and there when the skin is crying out but overall these three beauties are my go to girls!
My out right favourite is the day moisturiser as my little octopus friends demonstrate!
I have now bought other products in the L'Oreal Paris Skin Perfection range so will let you know if they get added to the collection or not.
Let me know if you have any skin care tips or if you try these products out :)
Have a lovely start to the week!
